Why our Heat Logs are different!

Heat Logs, or Briquettes, are dense, compacted blocks of wood that serve as a cleaner, more efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional firewood. Made from a blend of wood chips, wood shavings, and other wood materials, these briquettes offer a smart solution to make use of wood by-products that might otherwise be discarded. They are produced by compressing these materials under high pressure, all without using any additives or binders.

How many heat logs to heat for a day

Our Fire&Flame Heat Logs multipacks include 6 logs (295mm x 70mm x 70mm) and each log can last 4 hours, so if you make your fire first thing in the morning and keep it burning until late in the evening, you will use an average of 4 heat logs a day.

In summary, heat logs, or briquettes, offer a convenient, efficient, and eco-friendly way to heat your home. Their longer burn time, lower emissions, and sustainable sourcing make them an ideal choice for those looking to stay warm responsibly.

By opting for our logs, you are making a significant contribution to environmental conservation and supporting a more sustainable way of living.

ARE THEY WORTH IT?

Is it worth buying heat logs over traditional logs? Although firewood logs are cheaper initially, it doesn’t mean that they are more cost-effective long-term. In fact, heat logs have a much higher calorific value than firewood logs, meaning that they release a larger amount of heat when completely burnt.

Additionally, briquettes burn longer and hotter, delivering a consistent and steady source of heat. This efficiency means fewer interruptions to refuel your fire, making your heating experience more enjoyable and less cumbersome.

Fire&Flame Heat Logs burn 20% hotter than kiln-dried wood. They burn at least twice as hot due to their high calorific value (17.3 MJ/kg) and low moisture content – less than 10%.

WHICH LOGS GIVE OUT THE MOST HEAT?

To get the most heat possible out of your stove or fireplace, you should always buy your briquettes from a reliable retailer. Make sure they are accredited with the Ready To Burn badge and are Clean Air Act compliant. It is law in the UK today to use smokeless, dry fuel.

Dry wood not only produces less smoke and air pollution but also provides more heat, more efficiently, than wood that contains a high level of moisture.

Comprising 100% UK timber, our briquettes are not just environmentally friendly, but they’re also Clean Air Act compliant. With a high-heat output and ultra-low emissions, they’re the smarter, greener way to keep warm.

ARE THEY BETTER THAN KILN-DRIED LOGS?

Traditional firewood burns much quicker than briquettes. As a result, your heat will disappear up the chimney. Make sure you use a long-burning fuel. That way, you will be tending to the fire less and using less fuel!

Heat logs are much easier to light than firewood – they burn more slowly and your fire will need less attention.

DID YOU KNOW?

Woodlets Briquettes, have a better heat distribution. Heat from your fire will fill your room with warmth rather than the area immediately around your wood-burning stove or fireplace.

ARE HEAT LOGS BETTER THAN FIREWOOD?

To help you decide, we’ve listed the benefits of heat logs over firewood to outline some of the main differences between the two.

  • 100% SUSTAINABLE
Heat Logs are eco-friendly and sustainable. Briquettes are made from 100% UK timber sourced from sustainable forests.
  • 100% NATURAL
They’re free from chemicals, additives or binding agents.
  • LONG BURN-TIME
One heat log can last up to 4 hours, offering a warm and cosy experience with less tending to than traditional firewood.
  • MULTI-USE
You can use heat logs for fire pits, wood-burning stoves, multifuel stoves and chimeneas.
  • LOW MOISTURE CONTENT
With a moisture content of less than 10%, you can count on efficient and clean burning. While kiln-dried logs generally contain up to 20% moisture and firewood even more.
  • CLEAN AIR ACT COMPLIANT
Our heat logs meet and exceed the new Clean Air Quality standards, offering you peace of mind for an eco-conscious choice.
  • ULTRA-LOW EMISSIONS
Our heat logs produce very little ash and smoke. Minimise your carbon footprint with our ultra-low emission heat logs.
  • STORAGE
They are lighter and require less storage room than wood logs. Therefore, while firewood logs appear to be cheaper, heat logs tend to be more cost-effective.
  • AROMA
Fire&Flame Heat Logs are 100% virgin spruce pine and give off a lovely fresh aroma.
